Edna
Taylor Composition Contest

This event is for students of OMTA members only.
Membership dues must be paid by September 1.
The purpose of this contest is to encourage young composers of piano music
residing in Nebraska or Iowa. Three awards are given. One for
students in grades 4 - 6 ($30.00), for students in grades 7 - 9 ($40.00), and
one for students in grades 10 - 12 ($50.00). Participants must attend the
OMTA Composition recital in the Spring and perform or have their piece
performed. Oral program notes will be given before the piece is performed.
Entries must include:

A photocopy of the composition,
notates either by hand or by computer, including the student's first
name only. |

An audio or video tape of the
composition, including the student's first name only (the
composition may be played either by the student or the teacher). |

An entry form signed by the student
and the teacher, including a $15.00 entry fee. OMTA will retain
possession of the compositions, but will make every attempt to
return the tapes. Copyrights to the compositions remain with the
student. |

Recommended deadline is February 1 so
that winners may perform in the spring recital. |
