FUNdamentals Fair

This event is for students of OMTA members only.
OMTA sponsors this event annually, usually in January at the UNO Strauss
Performing Arts Center, to encourage students of all ages, length of study and
degree of advancement to improve their music knowledge and skills.
Students may enter any or all of eight events: scales, chords, cadences,
arpeggios, sight reading, theory and performance. Each event has twelve
levels of difficulty. The event includes an opening rally and a closing
ceremony. Ribbons for individual events are awarded when the student
completes all of his events and takes his score card to the awards table.
Students who have earned rosettes or trophies will receive their awards at the
closing ceremony. Any student who loses his score card is not eligible for
a trophy. As a general rule, awards are given as follows:

- Students with at least three ten's receive rosettes.
- Special large rosettes are awarded to students with seven ten's and
one nine.
- Trophies are awarded to the student who earns the highest number of ten's
in his level. A tie is broken by the highest theory score.
Qualifying students must enter all eight events.
- All teachers who enter students in this event must attend a packet
assembly meeting and must work the entire day of the Fun Fair.
